How would you use 50,000 euros to develop the immediate surroundings in Mikkola, Havukoski and Länsimäki? Share your ideas with us and vote! Let’s make the city more enjoyable together.
In 2021, participatory budgeting is carried out in Havukoski, Länsimäki and Mikkola.
Participatory budgeting is a way for local residents to decide how the city’s finances are used. Each neighbourhood has 50,000 euros at their disposal. First, you get to brainstorm ideas for how the money could be used. Next, the ideas will be reviewed, and we will together develop them further to create plans that will proceed to the vote. By voting, you get to impact which plans will be implemented with the 50,000 euros. The plans with the most votes will be implemented based on how they fit into the disposable amount of money. The plans with the most votes will be implemented in 2022.
The goal is to develop the immediate surroundings together with the local residents. The purpose of participatory budgeting is to increase the attractiveness, wellbeing and sense of community in the city’s outdoor areas, i.e. parks, streets, exercise areas and yards at schools and day care centres. The money can be used for, for example, new benches, outdoor exercise equipment, bicycle racks or park workouts.
